Because these wings are no longer wings to fly
But merely vans to beat the air
The air which is now thoroughly small and dry
Smaller and dryer than the will
Teach us to care and not to care
Teach us to sit still.

-T.S. Eliot, from the poem “Ash Wednesday”

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, in which the Christian Church follows Jesus to the cross, remembers his death, and celebrates his resurrection at Easter. Whether you are new to Christian faith, or a seasoned follower of Jesus, plan on joining us for Ash Wednesday, as we remember our mortality and reflect on God’s mercy in Jesus Christ.
