What is Emmanuel?
Emmanuel Ministry exists to serve marginalized populations in Center City – particularly individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. We gather every Saturday as a community to prepare and eat a fresh and healthy lunch together. This is followed by a movie and a time of fellowship.
We believe that because God has come to dwell with us and the world in Jesus, so too we, as a church community, are called to dwell in and serve the holistic needs of the world.
Emmanuel tHANKSGIVING BREAKFAST
Join our friends and neighbors experiencing homelessness for a Thanksgiving breakfast at Liberti Church in Center City! We need food prep, servers and a clean-up team. Food prep and dining room set-up starts on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 12PM - 2PM. On Thursday, Nov. 28, we need volunteers to arrive at 5 AM to cook the food. Servers should come at 8:15 AM and the clean-up crew at 10:15 AM. For more details and to sign up for a shift, email the Emmanuel team at email@example.com or click here.
It’s always a huge event and a ton of fun. We would love to see you there!

Since September 2016, Emmanuel has partnered with Bethesda Project, a homeless services organization, to provide on-the-ground services to guests at Emmanuel. This has allowed us to broaden our engagement with chronically homeless individuals on a weekly basis while they enjoy a homemade meal and movie in a safe environment.
Emmanuel now accepts toiletry donations all year long. Our team then identifies individuals who have the most need and distributes them during our Saturday meal.
Penn Dental & Podiatry
A group of dental and podiatry students comes to Emmanuel twice each month to promote good hygiene as well as give out free supplies and reference individuals to treatment.
A pastor or deacon is always at Emmanuel to offer spiritual guidance and care. This can be for anyone - guests or volunteers.
