All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
-J.R.R. Tolkein, from “The Song of Aragorn” in The Fellowship of the Ring
The most important things we do, we do over and over again. Embracing a beloved. Kissing your child. Practicing an instrument. Training for a race. Human beings are shaped in deep ways by our practices. And it’s no different in life with God. As we kick off 2019 at Liberti Church, we want to help you engage the core practices of Christian faith- baptism and worship, communion and Scripture reading and rest and generosity- and reflect on how they cultivate our life with God. We’ll listen together to texts from the Exodus story- the quintessential story of the spiritual journey- as we reflect on what it looks like to practice a growing Christian life. So, whether you’re a follower of Jesus who wants to grow in faith, or you’re just beginning to explore Christianity, join us in January and February at Liberti for It Takes Practice!
